Committed to Christ, Families and Communities      Family Resource Center The foundation of HeartLove Place’s Family Resource Center is the belief that every child deserves to be part of a loving family and to grow up in a nurturing, safe and emotionally and physically healthy environment. Youth and teen programs for ages 13-17 are designed to incorporate our core developmental areas of spiritual, educational, physical, creative and social growth. Learn more about our Family Resource Center.   Food Services HeartLove Place is an approved vendor of the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), and works with the following food programs: Child and Adult Food Program, Summer Meal Service Program, and the Nutritional School Lunch Program. We also offer catering for banquets and business meetings. Learn more about Food Services.     Job Training  HeartLove Place fills a major gap in Central Milwaukee by offering the ProStart Culinary Arts Program, which trains and prepares participants to obtain entry-level careers in the food service and hospitality industry. Licensed by the State of Wisconsin, bonded and insured. Certified through the Department of Public Instruction in the National School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program Meal Patterns. Child and Adult Care Food Program certified. School Breakfast and Lunch Program The National School Breakfast & Lunch Program is a federally regulated program providing healthy balanced and nutritious meals to local schools or daycare facilities.   As your preferred food service provider we offer: Monthly menu planning Delivery service  Training DPI record keeping Summer Meal Program   The Summer Food Service Program is a free program provided to schools and local community organizations during the summer months to ensure that children receive either a meal and a snack. In partnership with Hunger Task Force children and families can also receive a free supper meal.    Catering Off-site catering is one of our specialties, so leave the cooking to us. BUILDING COMMUNITIES: EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVES Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. -Proverbs 12:11  HeartLove Place has been a provider of food service training since 2005. Training is available for adults 18 years old and teens between the ages of 15-17.  All training programs utilize the curriculum of the National Restaurant Association and ServSafe and include hands on experiences, job readiness training and exams. HeartLove Place will assist with employment placement for those that successfully complete the program. We would like to sincerely thank The Richard E.and Nancy P. Marriott Foundation for helping sponsor our culinary training and family programming. With their financial support, we can continue our mission and help serve more families in the community. Training programs include: Teen Employment Program ServSafe Manager Training ServSafe Manager Training ServSafe re-certification   Up and Coming Culinary Training Program for Adults   We are offering  our next  ServSafe Manager Training beginning September 3rd, 2020.  Those who are interested in participating must register! NEWS  Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. - Ecclesiastes 4:9  HeartLove Place Serves Up Healthy Meals to Homework Diners HLP partnered the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership to cater warm meals to Homework Diners, an evening program where students and parents can gather to get help with homework from teachers and tutors. ProStart students provide the meal, as well as the recipe and ingredients. Learn more about this great community resource here.      Milwaukee's Bublr Bikes Helps Food Desert Communities    HeartLove Place partnered with Bublr Bikes for the Gears and Grub event.  The event was held at Pete's Fruit Market and ProStart culinary students prepared healthy dishes which residents got to sample and apply for an $8 Bublr Bikes Annual Membership.   Back to School Event was a HUGE Success!   The 17th Annual Back to School Family Rally event was a huge success! HeartLove Place distributed backpacks to more than 600 children from all ages. Fox 6 News highlighted the event success preparing students for the academic school year.   Generous Donation from First Bank Financial Centre Thanks to First Bank Financial Centre for their donation of more than 200 diapers and 1,000 baby wipes in support of the HeartLove Place Diaper Drive.   ProStart Helping Milwaukee Residents Find Work     Today's TMJ 4 covered a short story about HeartLove Place partnership with the Social Development Commission with ProStart. The program brings hopes to help provide more job training for low-income residents.   ProStart Graduate Opens his own Food Truck Business   Heavenly Cuisine On the Go serves food on 16th and Wells Street on the Marquette University campus. Tyree Fleming, the owner graduated with a ServSafe Certification and the ProStart Culinary program at HeartLove Place. Fleming has a passion for cooking and providing healthy food options for his customers.
